HVO biofuel: plant upgrades
Client: ENI S.p.A.
Services in this project:
- Technical design
- Works Supervision
- Permitting
Achieving rapid decarbonisation of the transport sector will require the deployment of a mix of technologies that strike the right balance between investment costs and environmental outcomes.
From 2022, Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), the first diesel produced from 100% renewable raw materials, oils and other vegetable waste that do not compete with the food chain, has been introduced into the Italian distribution network.
As part of the new product launch project, professional services were provided to upgrade the existing distribution systems regarding technical installations and commercial and tax compliance.
80 HVO delivery points were activated on the standard network in the first six months of the project, in line with the roll-out schedule of the Eni project.
