Client: San Giovanni S.r.l.
Services in this project:
- Works Supervision
The redevelopment project of the former San Giovanni freight yard area in Como envisages the transformation of a disused site, strategically located on the edge of the city centre and in close proximity to the Como San Giovanni railway station, into a new hospitality complex and a functional hub for urban mobility. The intervention restores value and centrality to a historic place, representing one of the first images perceived by those entering the city.
The operation includes the construction of a 150-room hotel featuring a panoramic rooftop and restaurant, integrated into a broader system of public services and mobility infrastructure.
The project also involves the development of a 400-space public car park, designed to accommodate bicycles, motorcycles and tourist buses, as well as the creation of a new pedestrian and cycle connection between the station and Via Regina, aimed at improving route continuity and the quality of sustainable mobility within the urban area.
The intervention is distinguished by the use of an entirely local supply chain, involving designers, technicians, skilled workers and collaborators with in-depth knowledge of the local context. This approach ensures design coherence, high execution standards, and a process management model based on responsibility and the enhancement of local expertise.
