The project consists of the extension of the Molo VII – 100 m to allow the simultaneous approach of 2 ultra large container vessels.

The project includes:

  • 100 m extension of the dock by repeating the existing structural model;
  • Refurbishment of 300 m of the existing crane railways along the quay;
  • Installation of new fenders and bollards suitably sized to guarantee the safe mooring of the designed vessel even in unfavorable wind conditions;
  • Requalification and rearrangement of the yard, included electrical, lighting and fire protection networks;
  • Refurbishment of the existing facilities and realization of a stormwater drainage and treatment system.
  • A further extension up to 800 m is envisaged by the port Master Plan.

The south quay will be equipped with eight quay cranes, included new ‘24 rows’ StS.

The requalification purpose yard is to rationalize the container storage, in anticipation of the expected increase of the traffic volume.

BIM PROJECT

This project has been drawn up in BIM: 2D/3D views, elevations and sections have been set.

The BIM model has been realized for each structural element, for example piles, beams and slabs, and thanks to it, every conflict with the internal plants, for example electrical or firefighting system, has been individuated and solved by the work team in each section
